What is the goal of our research? For many scientists, the answer to this question is that they want to put their ideas into practice quickly so that society can benefit from them. This requires not only scientific competence but also entrepreneurial skills. However, because in most cases these first have to be learned, the HZDR Innovators School has been established since the beginning of 2023. By intensifying and systematically bundling qualification and awareness-raising offers, the Transfer and Innovation Department would like to promote the transfer and entrepreneurship culture at the HZDR on a broad scale in the future.

Hi-Acts is committed to transforming advanced accelerator-based research into tangible applications in medicine, materials science, energy, and industry. By uniting the expertise of five leading Helmholtz centers: DESY, HZDR, GSI, HZB, and Hereon – we provide streamlined access to state-of-the-art facilities, interdisciplinary know-how, and tailored support for technology transfer and R&D partnerships.

The Saxon Network for Radionuclide Theranostics (SNRT) is dedicated to the development, production, and application of radionuclide-labeled drugs (radiopharmaceuticals) for the European market. Radiopharmaceuticals have proven their worth in nuclear medicine for many years and are used for the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular, and neurodegenerative diseases. SNRT combines scientific, clinical, and entrepreneurial expertise along the entire value chain to promote innovations in nuclear medicine as well as in the physics surrounding accelerators and the production of radionuclides. Nuclear medicine is experiencing rapid growth worldwide, and SNRT strives to be at the forefront of this development.



The SNRT is funded by the BMFTR within the framework of the RUBIN program - regional entrepreneurial alliances for innovation.

The Center of Excellence actively connects stakeholders from science, business, and society. Our central goal is the rapid and effective transfer of knowledge and technology into practical applications. To achieve this, we act as a neutral contact and mediator between various institutions and disciplines. We create visibility for the latest scientific findings, for example, through our cUPdate webinar series and continuing education courses, and initiate event formats such as Pitch&Match, InnoSpeedDatings, and the Saxon Patent Exchange.
