Our working group researches the integration of technical approaches for building trust in online services. This primarily includes methods based on verifiable information, e.g., trustworthy digital identities and credentials in wallets for companies and authorities. Such issues arise wherever credentials need to be exchanged between different parties, e.g., regarding the characteristics of individuals, companies, or products. This makes online services more accessible to customers and automates complex verification processes for organizations. We are currently developing, for example, the digital student ID for the EUDI wallet. Another area of application is trustworthy AI agents that can prove verifiable delegation relationships to their owners. Further interesting application areas include traceable product characteristics in supply chains (using the digital product passport) or integrated mobility services in cities.
