A bio-mimetic Brain-Computer Interface

Problem:

The brain remains an elusive organ with several issues such as Parkinson’s, tinnitus, stroke damage etc., remaining difficult to manage. This is the case despite the emergence of implantable Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) and advanced AI models for intervention. A prime setback is the lack of sufficient data from the patient’s brain. The data scarcity and our current inability to precisely stimulate the tissue are roadblocks to advanced therapies.

Solution:

We have developed a new electronic chip architecture with customised electrode integration to enable a large-scale (100,000s of electrodes), bi-directional (record & stimulate) interface at single-neuron resolution.

Presentation of the founding project

Who are you? Background, motivation, relevant experience? What role, if any, do the team members have?

I am a research oriented individual with a specific interest in artificial intelligence and the human brain. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in electronics for neural interfaces with an emphasis on leveraging machine learning and low-power circuits to "talk" with neural tissue.

Which industry(s) does the business idea most closely fit into?

What have you achieved so far (prototype, users, revenue)?

Proof of principle of all IP blocks.

Support sought

What skills are you lacking? What do you expect from the person? What role should they take on?

Management and business acumen. A person with atleast 1 formal degree in business or related fields. A biology background is a great plus. The person will be responsible for the business development aspects of the company.

(Multiple selection possible)

When should the collaboration ideally begin?

Where the collaboration should take place.

If the position is not entirely remote where will the team meet to work? (optionale Angabe)
